Per request, here is how I made the pumpkin soup for the chickens.
1 small pumpkin
2 tablespoons black strap molasses
1 cup oatmeal
1 bulb raw garlic
2-3 small containers of Greek yogurt (It’s what I had, you can use something else. Just make sure it has probiotics in it since not all yogurt does.)
Cut the pumpkin in half and scoop out the insides of half the pumpkin and put it into the blender. (The other half you can toast or put in your compost pile.)
Add the molasses, peeled garlic, oatmeal, and yogurt to the blender and mix. My directions said to add yogurt until it was a soupy consistency but I think since Greek yogurt is thicker, I was never going to get that consistency. Therefore, I added about 1/4 – 1/2 cup of water until I got there.
Pour the soup into both halves of your hollowed out pumpkin and serve to the chickens.
